The second half of the year offers a real beginning. Six months is enough time to return, rebuild, complete something meaningful, become more honest about what truly matters, and move closer to it.

The Journey
I have been using journals for the last twelve years, and I have tried dozens of formats, journaling methods, and ideas. I have also spent a great deal of time learning from philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience.
In this journal, I have tried to bring together what I have learned about human thought and behavior with my own experience of tracking goals, thoughts, and habits.
I first considered launching a journal in 2023, but I quickly realized that I still lacked the insights to make it truly useful. That was the first year when I created a custom journaling format for myself.
In 2024, I began shaping it to share with others, then decided it still needed work. By 2025, I was close, but I lacked the design knowledge to make it feel intuitive and useful. I learned, redesigned, and missed the start of the year 2026.
That delay gave me more time to improve it, and the journal eventually found its truest form as this companion for the second half of the year.
Even this 2026 edition has passed through more than seventy working iterations. I kept refining it to create something that could be useful to as many people as possible, remain non-judgmental, and genuinely help them live better.
How This Journal Moves Through Time
This journal moves in both directions. The half-year Compass gives you a direction. Each quarter narrows it. Each month helps you choose what matters now. Each week turns that choice into a plan. Each day gives you one promise to keep.
When you look back, you can see how the work of a day becomes part of a week, a month, a quarter, and eventually the half year itself.
Small actions can feel insignificant when we cannot yet see the mountain they are building. I want you to see the mountain taking shape and recognize the part each pebble plays in it.
Once the year is over, the timeline page will help you see the good and the difficult parts of all six months together.
I Want You to Be Healthier Through This Journal
The six Daily Rituals are intentionally simple and non-judgmental. They are not meant to prescribe one ideal version of a good or productive day.
I have been in the depths of depression, when even eating or resting became challenges in themselves. So I want you to always consider filling the first three ritual circles – Move, Nourish, and Rest.
Shade the circles, tick them, cross them, or leave them empty. This is a place to notice, not to judge yourself.
I also believe that enough sleep is essential for feeling healthy, happy, and calm. I encourage you to track your sleep and energy. You can also track goals and habits such as losing or gaining weight, working out, and other health practices through the journal’s trackers and streaks.
I Want You to Be Happier Through This Journal
Life is more than goals and habits. It should contain joy, delight, and pure happiness. The Vault gives you space for travel postcards, things you want to buy, experiences you want to have, reading lists, and more.
Every day, I also want you to notice what was good. I believe every day holds something worth remembering, something to be grateful for, and something worth celebrating. The daily pages make room for all three, with extra space for gratitude.
I Want You to Realize Your Full Potential Through This Journal
This journal encourages you to improve, aim big, and try hard. I want you to think honestly about what you want from the next six months, how you can remain consistent, and what it would take to achieve it. I hope the journal slowly brings you beyond your comfort zone and closer to your dreams and potential.
I wanted these pages to make consistency feel human, not grinding or mechanical. For me, consistency is the quiet practice of returning after life’s interruptions.
When you return to these pages, I want you to notice your effort, remember what you are grateful for, and see how ordinary days slowly add up.
Morning Intentions, Evening Reflection
Each daily page has two parts: Morning Intentions and Evening Reflection.
The morning is centered around one promise and your Daily Rituals. The promise may change from one day to the next, but whatever you promise, try to fulfil it. After all, it is a promise you are making to yourself. Even on busy days, I want you to open that day’s page and write just one word for your promise. Add a word and mark your streak.
The second part asks: how did the day go? Reflect and write whatever you feel. You do not need to overthink it. I want this journal to be a quiet friend and a diary where you can share your thoughts openly and honestly.
The more you express yourself, the lighter and calmer you may feel. The more honestly you share, the more self-aware you can become.
It Is Okay to Leave Pages Empty
You do not need to fill every page or complete every day. Begin where you are. Leave pages empty. Miss days. Change your mind. Return without guilt.
This is why Today’s One Promise sits at the top of every daily page. If you are too busy today, can you try one small thing? It is a daily nudge to come back, persevere, and stay kind to yourself. On difficult days, one promise kept is good enough.
The journal will still be here whenever you return.
My hope is that, by the time you reach the final page, you will understand yourself a little better, trust yourself a little more, notice more of what is good, and recognize the person you are becoming through the promises you kept.
Wherever you are beginning from, you are welcome here. ❤️
Wishing you joy, health, love, peace, and prosperity.
Keep Trailing on Your Untrailed Path.
